The owner of this fabulous home in Curdridge wanted an electric roof blind fitted in their bedroom suite. The room featured a large roof lantern which looked fantastic, but let too much light in during the long summer days and the room lacked any cosiness during the winter. They wanted an effective solution to ensure a better night’s sleep in the summer months, as well as create some extra insulation during the winter.
Electric Roof Roller Blind
The best solution for our client was our extremely popular electric roller blind system powered by the property’s 240v supply. The blind was custom made to measure and slides across specially constructed supporting shelves / channels around the edge of the lantern opening. This system allows the blind to open and close quietly and elegantly without any sagging and there is no light ingress.
On this occasion, the roof lantern had not been designed with a window covering in mind so the blinds and the supporting structure were built to fit. We can also work with architects and designers to create a suitable recess or fascia if you are planning a restoration or new build.
Blackout Blind Fabric
Our client was keen to block out as much light as possible to ensure a good night’s rest in the room. We have a variety of different blind fabrics to choose from so suggested a high quality blackout fabric to help ensure the room was kept dark when the blind was closed. This, combined with precise measuring, meant the blind fitted perfectly and any light ingress was eliminated.
The property was already fitted out with a Control4 Smart Home System so we set up the blinds to work from this as well as a remote control. Our client is able to automate the blind to open and close at certain times of the day or use their smartphone to control the blind from anywhere in the house.
