We fitted these smart and sophisticated Qmotion D-cell battery blinds to a property in Richmond, London. Our client’s open plan kitchen diner featured large sliding doors looking out to their patio and garden and wanted stylish motorised blinds that would provide privacy and shade without appearing obtrusive amongst the minimalist interior design. We avoided installing any wires or electrics by using battery-powered blinds and custom-made a fascia to conceal the blinds when not in use. The fascia was colour-matched to the frame of the sliding doors, and the neutral-coloured blind fabric creates privacy without making the room feel dark.
Concealed Electric Blinds
We have a wide range of concealment options for electric blinds. For these smart battery blinds, we custom made a fascia fitted above the large sliding doors to cover the brackets, roller mechanism and motor. When the blinds are rolled away, everything sits neatly behind the fascia out of view, which creates a lovely finish and complements the uncluttered style of the room. We can also colour-match the fascia to the RAL number of the window frames for a seamless and coordinated look.
These battery blinds are powered by simple household D-cell batteries, which are housed within the roller barrel. The blinds are entirely wireless, which means no mains power is required, and installation is straightforward. The battery motor is very energy efficient, lasting up to five years with average use, and can be replaced quickly and easily. The blinds rise and fall seamlessly and are very quiet for minimal disturbance.
