In this high-profile commercial renovation project, we installed four electric roof blinds in two rooms at The National Gallery in Central London. The project’s leading contractor had created two new areas within the gallery that required blackout blinds to completely cover the large roof lanterns. We used blackout fabric that blocks up to 96% of the natural light to ensure the rooms are sufficiently dimmed. The fabric is also fire retardant and meets commercial safety requirements.
Roof Lantern Electric Blinds
Roof lanterns are a fantastic way to let lots of light into a room, but when you need to block out the light, such as in this art gallery, electric blinds are an ideal solution. At the touch of a button, the blind fabric will effortlessly glide across the void, guided by a zip system that holds the fabric in place and keeps the blind taut. And when the blind is not in use, a special headbox conceals the blinds from view for a smart and tidy finish.
Blackout Electric Blinds
If you need to block out lots of light, our blackout blind fabric provides excellent coverage, no matter the size of your window or roof lantern. And for extra darkness, we recommend a dark coloured fabric as we’ve used in this project. This opaque fabric can also help to retain heat or keep a room cool dependent on the time on the year. We have a wide selection of blackout blind fabrics to choose from including over 500 different colours.
