We recently installed three horizontal mains-powered electric roof blinds to a stunning property in Notting Hill, London. Our client chose a 3% screen fabric to provide respite from the sun while still allowing plenty of natural light to enter the room. These horizontal powered blinds are kept under constant tension to ensure the fabric is kept taut and flat, without any sagging, while in use.
Electric Roof Blinds
Automated roof blinds can be opened or closed at the touch of a button, making them very efficient for roof lanterns that can not be easily reached. The blind is fitted using special Zip Technology where-by the blind runs along an inner channel on both sides of the window to keep it in place and prevent sag. This also helps to stop light ingress around the edges of the blind. Our made-to-measure roof lantern blinds are custom made for the perfect fit and are completely hidden from view when not in use by a concealed headbox unit.
Roof lanterns are a great way of brightening up a room, but in the summer, the room can often get too hot and some extra shade is required during the day. Our client chose a 3% screen fabric that lets in enough light to keep the room looking bright and airy, but that also keeps the room cool when the sun is at its strongest. The natural colour of the fabric also prevents the room from being too dark. We have a wide range of translucent screen fabrics available including 1% and 5% openness, as well as full blackout fabric if required.
